Ramon Rubio was born in Gijon (Spain) in 1974. After finishing his engineering studies at University of Oviedo in 2000, Dr. Rubio became part of the research staff at that univesrity. The following year he was taken on as a teacher in the Construction and Manufacturing Engineering Department. In 2003 he presented his thesis on CAD and teaching innovation.
After ten years teaching and eleven researching he has completed more than 2500 teaching hours, 10 JCR papers, 30 reserach projects, 40 conferences, 3 books, 30 courses delivered and supervised over 20 final projects.
Currently he manages projects worth more than 35000€ and his research lines are generative design, additive manufacturing and eco-design. More over, he has taken part in aspects of management within the School. He belonged to the Board of directors in 2010/2011 period and coordinating Erasmus agreement between University of Oviedo with both University of Sheffield and FH Joanneum of Kapfenberg in Austria.
